we just did the 70km ride as part of a charity thing on the route they will use near here for the Tour of Britain ...

I work in Stoke and live in Leek and commute more or less the same way the ride goes. (I never go directly except when i'm late!).
Strangely I didn't fancy paying £40 to ride my commute.
haha - well indeed you wouldn't! we didn't do the whole hog- so we triapsed around stone etc and learnt some new routes - it was good fun and I really enjoyed it!
Hope the money is well spent on the cancer cause ...e
